I'm pleased to announce the official release of my my latest album, "Redemption."

I'm particularly pleased with the 10-track album as it is my most 'live-sounding' album to date. As odd as this may seem it's actually sound engineering nightmare, hence the album being slightly overdue.

I am also extremely happy to inform you that, in conjunction with IMGlobal©, we are selectively issuing discount vouchers as a 'thank you' for  your support. Full-length track previews for all tracks are also available here

After clicking the 'Download' button on the Bandcamp player below, the album is then made visible. Please note that the initial price you see there is NOT the discounted price! To claim the discount simply click 'Download Album.' You will then be confronted by a page asking you to enter the discount code.

Enter the codeword  lusty  and watch the already stupid price plummet even further (we're talking more than a few cents here, folks). Choose your preferred type of file format and payment method.

Hi folks. Not quite on the eve of my latest album, I have decided to release a full-length song 'preview' from the album. The album is a 10-track album entitled 'Redemption.' The track that I have chosen to preview here is "(You & Your) Poison Pen." I shall only be making the album available via Nimbit and, depending on how things pan out, on Amazon.com further on down the road as sales of my previous album, 'Catharsis,' have been doing well. I suspect this is largely due to the fact that Amazon.com are able to release the 15-track album for $8.99 and maintain appropriate artist royalties....a price that cannot be feasibly matched by Nimbit on a 'per-album' basis. I am, however, still able to undercut them on a 'per-single' basis. The album will also be available as a CD at approximately the same time as the mp3 album.

As far as undercutting the opposition (i.e: distributors) I am always on the lookout for feasible ways to do this. I have a few 'experiments' on the go at the minute & will be blogging the matter amidst a bucket-load of other commitments. Bare in mind that many of these options generally fall down at the final hurdle from the musicians & the listeners detriment alike. As frustrating as it is, I do find it rewarding to find these things out & to pass on the whys & wherefores to relevant parties.

<a href="http://bobfindlay.bandcamp.com/track/you-your-poison-pen">(You &amp; Your) Poison Pen by Bob Findlay</a>'Redemption' won't be making its way to iTunes. I find the site to be not at all user-friendly for both listeners and artists. I have written to them on numerous occasions re. this & am yet to receive a response. Amazon.com, on the other hand, seemed genuinely interested & even thanked me for contacting them on behalf of myself, listeners & fellow musicians.

Whilst speaking of Amazon.com, I was pleasantly informed that my first book, "Online Music Traps," has made its way onto Amazon Kindle. Having never been one to be very good at feigning knowledge, I don't really know much about this. According  to Amazon.com & the American press, "....everybody has to have one!...." Must be true. The feedback that I have received at this early stage of the release of "Online Music Traps" has been overwhelming to say the least....& yes, I have commenced writing another book. It'll be announced here first but is possibly some time away....or possibly not.

August 3rd, 2009

As you know I have always attempted to keep my current personal life separate from my musical endeavors. Sometimes, however, this isn't possible. This is such an occasion.

I have retired, after 23 years, as a State Registered Nurse and am currently undergoing medical treatment for a recurring psychological condition. The condition is not, as some people may be quick to assume, alcohol related. Far from it. I have been 99% sober since 12.20pm, April 2007.

So.....I am now focussing 100% on my musical endeavors. This does not mean that I will be returning to the 'live' circuit which has been mistakenly reported since my first live performance in 5 years last month. Having said this, I cannot express my gratitude to well-wishers prior to the event & the feedback received post-event. My 30-minute bracket brought back a lot of fond memories however since the event I have very mixed emotions about performing live.

During my interstate trip I also had a series of promotional shots taken and edited by my Manager, Haych Storm©. You will note that some have been used on this site. More photographs can be viewed on the "Bob Findlay Music Page" on Facebook.

Two music video clips of the songs"Crooked" and "Dear Artist" were also shot during my visit and are easiest to locate right here on the "Videos" page. The videos are very diverse musically, visually and thematically. I hope that you enjoy them and please feel free to comment on them here.As you know, I try to keep my personal life entirely separate from my musical endeavors.

I was recently "Featured Artist" for a third time at noisehead.com. Insufficeint notice was given to appropriately promote this.

In conclusion I leave you with the aforementioned mixed emotions regarding my music as it has now become my sole form of income and the words 'music' and 'money' have never sat well with me but at this point I have no other option. I do, however, have a few ideas up my sleeve and I expect to be an announcement in the near future.

In the meantime, while you're here, have a look around the site as I continue to make this 'work in progress' become a low-time affair for me and an enjoyable experience for you. Please feel free to leave feedback in the "Guestbook" here.

I hope that this finds you & those close to you well & in good spirits.
